'She's got an X-factor very few horses have' - Tom Segal on the Group 1 contender he expects to win 'pretty easily' on Friday

Tom Segal believes Falakeyah possesses the rare "X factor" to put up a special performance in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.

The Group 1 contest for three-year-old fillies (4.20) has been billed as a clash between Zarigana and Falakeyah, but there is only one horse interesting the Pricewise tipster.

Zarigana, who was awarded the French 1,000 Guineas in the stewards' room last month, has been strongly supported into 11-8 (from 2) with the unbeaten Falakeyah, an impressive winner of the Pretty Polly at Newmarket last time, pushed out to 7-2 (from 5-2) on Friday morning.

However, speaking on the Racing Post's Good Morning Royal Ascot show, Segal said: "I like Falakeyah a lot, I think she's got the most talent and is really good. Of all the horses I've seen this season, Falakeyah and Field Of Gold have struck me as the ones who have stood out.

"I hope she comes here, does what I expect her to do and wins pretty easily. She's got an X factor very few horses have."

Former jockey Charlie Poste was also only looking in one direction in the Coronation head-to-head.

"I love Falakeyah," he said. "The Pretty Polly win last time was super impressive and the stiff mile, especially round the bend, will be ideal.

"I think she's the one with the most talent. Zarigana is quite tricky and it would be interesting to see how she's going to handle everything. I'd be really against the favourite here."

In the preceding Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (3.40), Maddy Playle thinks lightning can strike twice with War Rooms representing the winning connections from last year when Crystal Black struck for trainer Ger Keane, jockey Colin Keane and the Wear A Pink Ribbon syndicate.

"They'll likely have targeted this race," she said. "He's got a lovely draw in 12 and was very good when trained by Owen Burrows, finishing third in the Dante behind Economics.

"If he can replicate that type of performance, which his last two runs suggest he could, and with the cheekpieces on for the first time, he can produce a big effort."

More key insight from Good Morning Royal Ascot

I think Ain't Nobody is going to run a corker at 66-1. I think the race is tailormade for him. I don't think he liked being ridden up with the pace in the Sandy Lane as he likes passing horses. He won the Windsor Castle last year and this looks to have been the ultimate aim.
David Jennings puts up a massive-priced fancy for the Commonwealth Cup

I think we're breeding terribly weak stock, so when Ballydoyle come along they've just got better stock. Signora showed loads on her debut, is going to take a massive step forward and is probably going to win.
