Webb Simpson loses way in Wyndham to blowtorch back-to-back beauties

The week after Brooks 'The King' Koepka delivered desperately needed salvation by winning the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational, Webb 'The Simpleton' Simpson allowed a golden opportunity slip through his fingers in the Wyndham Championship.
There I was, literally salivating at the prospect of back-to-back headline-selection winners to continue the rally after a dire first half of the year. I may have drowned myself in saliva had Simpson completed the job, but I would have died with glory coursing through my veins – a sticky, smelly, glorious mess of a man to make the embalmers really earn their corn.
Simpson was 2-1 favourite going into the final round only one shot behind PGA Tour maiden Byeong Hun An and I was convinced nothing could stop the North Carolina native claiming the trophy in his home state. As a devoted Lord-lover who spends countless hours in heavy worship, Simpson even had higher powers adding to the support, so the odds of him failing were arguably around 1,000-1.
