Trying to learn from Lei Feng and leave pancake impressions in the past

A couple of Jehovah's Witnesses knocked at my door this week, fancying a good old chin-wag, and they were both full of beans about the future, smiling, twinkling, tittering, and using their smartphones to show me “life-saving” extracts about their hero.
Punters can often be heard saying “It's the hope that kills you!”, but, in the case of these Jehovah-worshipping characters, it appears to be the opposite. They were radiating hope, explaining how chipper it makes them feel that they know Jehovah is going to soon arrive on the scene to cleanse society of all its problems.
And unlike a losing wager, which expunges your hope as soon as it fails, the Jehovah's hope is ongoing. Until Jeho, the J-dog, or whatever pet name they give their man, deigns to show up for his epic healing of Planet Earth and Co, his followers will carry a heart bursting with hope. I envy these guys so much.
