There were plenty of highlights last season for the team at Carlburg Stables, not least Elmalka's 1,000 Guineas success and Charyn's rise to become champion miler in Europe.
There were also challenges after two big owners in the shape of Amo Racing and Sheikh Mohammed Obaid decided to cut their ties with the yard.
But Roger Varian is a trainer always looking to the future and, while there might not be a long line of established stars to rely on this season, there is no shortage of untapped potential among a team of 180 horses.
