'I love her - she's potentially as good as we've got and is in at Cheltenham'

Adam Smith, the father of modern economics who was born and brought up 15 miles away on the coast at Kirkcaldy, would have understood the idea well: invest from a position of strength.
Lucinda Russell had good winners at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals last spring and she and partner Peter Scudamore have been busy at the sales in an attempt to build on those successes, boosting the team at Arlary House with plenty of exciting young prospects.
There has also be an increased level of activity on the Flat and the yard sent out a record eight winners in that sphere in 2022 but it is chasers that really rule the roost and Russell is aiming for the biggest prize of them all, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, with stable star Ahoy Senor.
