Defining moment Second win in Queen Alexandra at Royal Ascot last month, two years after the first
Having been on the verge of retirement at the end of last season, nine-year-old gelding Oriental Fox won the Queen Alexandra Stakes for the second time under regular partner Joe Fanning at Royal Ascot last month. A stalwart of Mark Johnston's Middleham operation, the popular stayer is owned by Swiss financier Markus Graff. Next week the veteran is set for the 53rd outing of a long career with a third attempt at the Goodwood Cup, where he has been unplaced behind Big Orange for the last two seasons.
Continental origins
A German-bred son of Lomitas, Oriental Fox was trained by Uwe Ostmann and Carmen Bocskai before he joined Mark Johnston for his five-year-old campaign in 2013.
