How do you address a titled person when you are about to meet them for the first time?

We had been invited to supper by her daughter Lorna, an occasion I’ve reflected on this week following Lorna’s shocking death after a fall at Taunton.

That she lived in a place pronounced ‘Dolly’ seemed to tickle Lorna when giving us directions, but she was someone who found humour, often dry, a comfortable friend.
