Outgoing Gambling Commission chairman Philip Graf has praised the change of attitude towards problem gambling shown by some operators but has warned the industry faces further challenges.

Last month was supposed to mark the end of Graf's chairmanship of the commission but he has not been able to down tools just yet and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has extended his term until September 2 while his successor is found.

Graf said both the commission and the industry faced challenges, including the increasing reach of digital and concern over advertising. However he returned to the issue of gambling-related harm and that the gambling industry is going to have to work harder in dealing with it.
