Melbourne Cup plan for the British-trained 100-1 shot who is worrying the race handicapper

Are we about to see one of the most aggressive price cuts in history? Quite possibly. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Meydaan is a best-priced 100-1 with bet365 for the Lexus Melbourne Cup on November 4, but that price might not last much longer.
His weight of 54kg (8st 7lb) means he is already inside the cut line at number 24 on the list for the A$10 million (£4.86m/€5.59m) Group 1. Joint-trainer Ed Crisford on Wednesday confirmed he was already in quarantine with a view to flying on September 27, and the race's handicapper David Hegan has gone on record as picking him out as the horse he is most scared is wrong at the weights.
"One who could improve his rating and race beyond expectation" was how Hegan described the four-year-old son of Frankel, and Crisford jnr is of the belief the handicapper has every right to be worried.
