Champion Stakes hero Anmaat in 'great shape' as return looms - while key conversation will decide Shadwell's Oaks team

Angus Gold is hoping for more phenomenal moments from "Shadwell's superstar" Anmaat, with the seven-year-old gearing up for a return to action in Ireland or France.
The lightly raced gelding produced an incredible performance in the Champion Stakes to defeat the likes of Calandagan, Economics and Thursday's runaway Middleton Stakes winner See The Fire at 40-1 in October, and will bid for further Group 1 glory this campaign.
Talented but fragile, Anmaat has spent several spells away from the track but is in excellent form in advance of his seasonal reappearance, which will come in either the Prix d'Ispahan – which he won in 2023 – or the Tattersalls Gold Cup. Both races take place on Sunday week.
