Impecunious has a couple of stout stayers in his pedigree and the step up in trip could be to his advantage but Spitalfield has run two good races against rivals in cracking form and he can take advantage of this easier assignment. Dear Ralphy has ground to make up on the selection on their recent course-and-distance run but he is an obvious contender for a place.

Hidden Verse has more on his plate than when winning at Chepstow on Thursday and there are plenty of viable alternatives. Deputy has made a tepid start to 2025 but he is down in class with headgear added, so a revival would not be a big shock. Emerald Army could be invigorated by returning headgear, while Baby Rover (second choice) is on the up and looks set to go well once again. Preference, though, is for Stormy Pearl, who exploited her reduced mark at Hamilton eight days ago and for whom a 3lb rise is not insurmountable.
