Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's five meetings on Monday, October 13

Hereford

3.42: Jungle Wood

Sara Bradstock's Jungle Wood has found his level in handicaps and it's hard to envisage him not being involved in this company. Southwell second Jager Time is unexposed as a stayer and feared most. Knightsbridge would be of some interest if backed on this handicap debut.

Kempton

6.40: Shallow

Jettie's Run was hiked up 5lb for her latest C&D second but she is back against her own sex and is still unexposed. She's high on the list, along with the progressive Cindy Lou Who and French Sand, who should be well suited by the drop in both trip and class. That said, it could be worth giving Shallow another chance to confirm herself a well-handicapped filly. She fluffed her lines at Newmarket last time but she looked all at sea on the track when coming off the bridle and the return to this venue, where she has run well in all five visits, could see her resume winning ways with Oisin Murphy a notable booking.

Musselburgh

1.52: Triple Force

Back down in class, Triple Force could well follow up his Newmarket success and enhance his strong record since wearing a visor. Shielas Well, who looks reasonably solid, is second choice ahead of Believe In Lies who may show improvement upped in distance.

Roscommon

4.05: Glenroyal

With testing ground a worry for Local Lad and the trip an unknown for Refreshment, this looks an excellent opportunity for Glenroyal to notch up a third career victory.

Yarmouth

2.30: Calafiori

Last month's Bath runner-up Son Of Sarabi could make a bold bid back up in trip, while there are plenty of nursery newcomers who need a close look including Lord Harcourt, who has shown clear promise in his last two runs. However, it might be worth sticking with the progressive Calafiori, who has won two of his last three starts including an emphatic success at Pontefract last Monday.
