Thursday's opening game of Week 16 has implications for the playoff races in both conferences as San Francisco head to Tennessee.

The 49ers are getting hot with five wins in their last six games, but they look destined for a wildcard spot as the Rams and Cardinals are both still two games ahead in the NFC West.

Tennessee are sliding down the rankings in the AFC after three losses in their last four games. They now lead the AFC South by only one game from 8-6 Indianapolis and the pressure will be on them.

Tennessee’s offence has been dealing with a lot of injuries but they have not been coping well and they have looked terrible lately, throwing away a ten-point lead in Sunday's costly 19-13 loss to Pittsburgh.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is tied for the most interceptions in the NFL this season, star running back Derrick Henry remains sidelined and wide receiver Julio Jones was injured again on Sunday after a brief return to action.

The way to exploit the San Francisco defence is to attack their injury-hit secondary, but the Titans aren’t well equipped to do that at the moment. Meanwhile, the 49ers’ offence is getting players back and starting to hit their stride.

San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t getting much credit but he’s been excellent recently and is averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt - the best in the league. Take the 49ers to keep their strong run going.
