Wild Card Weekend begins with an all NFC West match-up as Seattle head to San Francisco to take on a red-hot 49ers outfit.

San Francisco dominated both of their regular-season meetings with the Seahawks and there is no indication that things will be any different in this playoff tussle.

The Niners beat Seattle 27-7 in September before running out 21-13 victors last month, although they were arguably value for more than that eight-point victory as Seattle scored a late touchdown in the second contest.

The Seahawks confounded expectations to make the post-season but it’s hard to see them navigating past a San Francisco unit who enter the playoffs on a ten-game winning run.

Even with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on the sidelines, San Fran have continued to beat teams with relative ease behind rookie signal-caller Brock Purdy, who has seamlessly led a talented offence featuring talents such as running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle.

Kittle registered 93 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks last month and there is every chance that he could again dominate at the Levi’s Stadium tonight.

The 49ers boast arguably the best defensive unit in the league. They conceded the fewest points of any team in the regular season and gave up only 20 across their two games against Seattle.

All things considered, the Niners should have enough firepower when in possession and be sturdy enough on defence to comfortably beat this plucky Seahawks team.
