The LA Chargers meet the Jacksonville Jaguars for a place in the divisional round, and there is value in getting with the visitors in this one.

For starters, LA have a better quarterback, better receiving weapons and a better defence, especially now they have the majority of their star players back in action.

It must be said that the Jags have won five games in succession, but that may mean they have been overrated by the layers and the manner of those victories overlooked.

They would likely have lost to Tennessee last week were it not for a fumble returned for a touchdown late on – a mistake a better side such as the Chargers is unlikely to make.

Admittedly, the Jaguars did crush the Chargers earlier in the season, but LA quarter-back Justin Herbert was carrying a rib injury in that match and he will be a much fiercer proposition now he has returned to full fitness.

Jacksonville haven’t come up against too many top-class quarterbacks this season and their pass defence ranks among the worst in the league when taking that into account.

That area will be severely tested by LA wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, while Chargers tight end Gerald Everett is having a great season in the middle of the field.

If the Chargers can get their passing game going, they should have no problem taming the Jaguars.
