Wednesday's betting preview

Burnley's Championship promotion push has been hampered by too many draws but the Clarets can put a victory on the board when facing Stoke at Turf Moor.

It has been a frustrating start for Burnley, who have played out six stalemates in 11 matches and have developed a nasty habit of squandering points from winning positions.

Vincent Kompany's side have taken the lead in each of their last seven league matches but they have drawn four of them, including on Saturday at Cardiff when they were pegged back by Callum Robinson's 90th-minute equaliser.

Learning how to manage games better will be towards the top of Burnley's priorities.

However, the Clarets may not be seriously tested by Stoke, who were dreadful for large parts of Sunday's 4-0 loss at home to Watford.

Stoke manager Alex Neil appears to have a massive job on his hands and his injury-hit side could suffer a second loss in four days.

Wigan have got the best away record in the Championship, taking 13 points from a possible 15, and look a decent bet to defeat Hull at the MKM Stadium.

The Latics are essentially a no-frills outfit but they make very few mistakes and can trouble the Tigers, who are on a five-game losing sequence.

An away win could also be on the cards at the New York Stadium where Rotherham host Millwall.

The Millers are hoping for a victory in their first game under new manager, Matt Taylor, but their recent performances have dipped and they could struggle against the Lions, who will fancy their chances of registering a first away win of the season.
