The Dallas Cowboys meet the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday with only seedings on the line, now that both of these teams have confirmed their places in the postseason.

That means we could see some players on reduced playing time or even sitting out completely, so it’s worth keeping an eye out to see which players are rested with the Eagles benching several starters already.

All things considered, however, the Eagles look the best bet to cover the spread in this game.

Philadelphia have won their last four games and should be able to continue their strong pre-playoffs run form.

Granted, those victories came against Washington (twice), the Giants and the Jets, but you can only beat what is in front of you and the Eagles’ offence is starting to click. Philadelphia are averaging five yards per carry on the ground and have the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL (24).

That will no doubt trouble the Cowboys, who have allowed the seventh-most yards per carry this season and are tied for giving up the second-most 20-plus yard rushes.

Given the talent of Boston Scott, who was placed on the Covid list earlier in the week but could still clear NFL protocols in time to play, and dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni will want his team to keep the ball on the ground, especially given how hot the Cowboys have been against the pass.

As for Dallas, their offence looked to be heating up after a 56-14 demolition of Washington a couple of weeks back, but their subsequent 25-22 loss to Arizona highlighted they still have problems to iron out.

They managed just 45 total rushing yards against the Cardinals and should once again struggle when presented with an Eagles defence who rank third in yards allowed per carry.

With several big names missing, Philly might not have enough in them to win outright, but they can run their divisional rivals close.
