Royal Ascot – ITV Racing Tips

Racing Post experts pick their best bet for the day for the final day of Royal Ascot in a bid to help you find more winners.

Wokingham Stakes – HIGHLAND DRESS

Highland Dress joined Archie Watson after a truncated three-year-old campaign and has looked a good recruit for new connections, finishing second at Southwell in March before two victories. He looked a handicapper going places when winning at Newmarket recently, staying on to beat his seven rivals with plenty in the tank, and this 6lb higher mark is unlikely to be the limit of his ability. St James's Palace Stakes – PALACE PIER

Has impressed in winning all three starts and while it was just a handicap last time, trainer John Gosden won the Prince of Wales's Stakes this week with a former handicapper.

The colt showed an exhilarating turn of foot when scoring at Newcastle and looks certain to relish the stiff finish over this mile and can beat the 2,000 Guineas also-rans. (Paul Kealy)

Royal Ascot – ITV7 Tips

The ITV7 competition is back for every day of Royal Ascot and is completely free to play. This Saturday it's a rollover, which means there is £250,000 to be won. Users will need a Sky Bet account to enter so if you don't already have an account, sign up above and take advantage of the free bet offer. The Racing Post experts make their selections for the competition.

Race 1: 1.50 Ascot

Mark Johnston's SANDS OF TIME made a big impression at Lingfield and she can give her yard a second straight win in this race.

Race 2: 2.15 Newmarket

For one so inexperienced KING RAGNAR did well to hit the frame in a 0-100 here a fortnight ago and he's bred to stay this far.

Race 3: 2.25 Ascot

An interesting and competitive renewal although none of the British, Irish or French Guineas winners are in the field. Preference is for RUN WILD, who was most impressive when beating some useful fillies hollow over 1m2f at Newmarket on her return, when very much shaping as if a drop to a mile would be fine – she showed bundles of pace then.

Race 4: 3.00 Ascot

A fascinating race that can go to WICHITA, whose close second in the 2,000 Guineas was a fine run and makes him the one to beat now that he has evidently improved past last season's star juvenile Pinatubo, who is nonetheless a much respected main danger.

Race 5: 3.35 Ascot

Fairytale sprinter SCEPTICAL is improving at a rate of knots and can take another step up the ladder. His story is magical as he cost only £2,800 last summer and is now bidding for a £148,000 first prize in a Group 1 contest at Flat racing's biggest meeting. The prediction is that he'll come there cruising and go whoosh once Frankie Dettori presses the button.

Race 6: 4.10 Ascot

The one with most potential is HIGHLAND DRESS, who was quite well regarded by John Oxx when trained in Ireland and who looked good at Newmarket recently. He is poised to take another step forward.

Race 7: 4.40 Ascot

Less competitive than usual and only three runners make strong appeal as potential winners. Preference is for WHO DARES WINS, whose best Flat form last season gives him leading prospects and he shouldn't be bothered whatever happens with the weather.
