The two Ballydoyle contenders have won a Guineas each and, with PRECISE having beaten True Love in the Irish version last time, she can confirm her supremacy today. It will be no surprise if True Love poses a greater threat than at the Curragh, however. It could be a messy race run at a slow pace and by far the likeliest front-runner is German 1,000 Guineas winner Timeforshowcasing. The return to fast ground is a concern but she could nevertheless be an attractive each-way option if afforded an uncontested lead. Balantina is an interesting contender on her first outing since winning at the Breeders' Cup last October, while Sukanya and Touleen are others who could run well.

What happened in the Coronation Stakes last year?
Cercene dug in gamely to fight off the French 1,000 Guineas winner Zarigana, who came with a challenge but was unable to go by. This proved a landmark success for the combination of Gary Carroll and Joe Murray, who were landing their first Group 1.The 33-1 shot, who was previously third in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, loved her first go on good to firm ground, which may have worked against the Francis Graffard-trained Zarigana. Cathedral ran an admirable race to finish fourth at 33-1.
