Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's five meetings on Wednesday, July 30

Galway

7.50: Far From Dandy

Sujet looked like he still had plenty in hand when winning a premier handicap at the Curragh on his seasonal reappearance and he is greatly respected off 9lb higher. First Wave is interesting down in class, as is Scott Key stepped back up in trip but Far From Dandy caught the eye making late gains after a slow start at Killarney and he can take this if sharper from the gates. Sunriseontheboyne could make a bold bid at likely bigger odds.

Goodwood

4.55: Leadman

Having registered a very solid success at the Newmarket July festival, Leadman could well show further progress and defy a 4lb rise. Interesting three-year-olds Defence Minister (second choice) and Mr Chaplin figure highly in calculations, while Native Warrior and Cracking Gold are respected kept to 7f and last year's winner Blue Prince is competitively weighted. Several others also have possibilities.

Leicester

8.43: Versailles Prince

Last-time-out winners Gloryous, who would be an apt winner during Goodwood week, and Hibernate (preferred) like to get on with it and there has to be a danger that they soften each other up for the finish. In any case, Versailles Prince is a handicap debutant to note given how much he can be expected to improve for this extra two furlongs.

Redcar

4.00: Callisto Dream

Radiant Beauty (second choice) is an interesting stable debutant for James Owen but her three wins have been on all-weather and Callisto Dream is preferred. The selection posted a solid effort at Ascot on handicap debut, despite not getting the best of passages through, and could yet have more to offer. She's The Duchess is solid and Latynina is unexposed, while Singoura will need to settle better now stepping up to a mile.

Sandown

8.30: Valiancy

Top of the list is Valiancy, who stayed on strongly for a creditable third on his handicap debut at Haydock and that form was boosted when the winner followed up in a Racing League event. He's only 1lb higher than last time and is an interesting contender on this drop back in grade. The main threat could come from Earnest Belief, who showed clear promise in his last two qualifying runs and could have a bright future in staying handicaps. Whatsgoingonmarvin is third choice ahead last month's Ffos Las winner Personal Best.
