Top selections across the cards in Britain and Ireland

Doncaster

2.25: Patontheback

This can go to well-handicapped seven-year-old Patontheback, who signalled a return to form when staying on for third over 6f at Catterick recently and is sure to be suited by today's move back up in trip. Novello Lad also looks interesting on his return to 7f and is second choice, while handicap debutante Angel Of Rain is unexposed.

Downpatrick

4.50: Chatterbox

This looks like a good opportunity for Chatterbox to get a first win on the board. She was only narrowly denied in a more competitive race than this last summer and arrives on the back of a big Flat run when only finding one too good. Pralognan's latest hurdle run suggested he may have a future over timber but the main threat could come from Ar Nos Na Gaoithe who was below her best last time but had previously been in the form of her life.

Gowran

5.10: Fleur De Chine

Quite a tight little race. Fleur De Chine wasn't at her best on her seasonal return but back to the scene of her valuable win of last season, and on easier ground, gets the vote. Older rivals Coeur D'Or and Cristal Clere hold strong claims, while the three-year-olds Eastwatch and Viking Invasion could well improve enough to feature.

Hamilton

4.15: Lord Roxby

Having recorded a solid success here last month, Lord Roxby is preferred. Glorious Kitty, who ran well in the three-year-old Dash at Epsom last weekend, is second choice ahead of in-form Tarlac and course-and-distance scorer Educating Rita. A few others would be interesting if they get suitable ground.

Salisbury

5.00: Crimson Spirit

The four-year-old Crimson Spirit appeals as a winner waiting to happen off this sort of mark, especially after running so well at York behind horses ridden handier than him. Extrication was less competitive at Kempton but endured a similar scenario and he's second choice ahead of Hodler and Bell Shot.
