Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's eight meetings on Friday, June 6

Top selections across the cards in Britain and Ireland

Epsom

4.00: Wemightakedlongway

Unbeaten after five races, the latest of which was the 1,000 Guineas, Desert Flower is top rated and by some way. However, while the manner of her wins suggests she will stay beyond a mile, her pedigree has to prompt significant doubts about 1m4f. Maybe her class can still win the day but she faces several promising rivals who have stronger prospects for being suited by the trip. In marked contrast to Desert Flower's trainer, Aidan O'Brien has enjoyed prolific success in the Oaks and he has the next three in the betting, with Ryan Moore on board suggesting Minnie Hauk is the first string but with Whirl having done more in form terms after looking good in the Musidora and she may prove the best from Ballydoyle. For the best option overall, though, Joseph O'Brien's WEMIGHTAKEDLONGWAY has to be of major each-way interest at the very least. Her reappearance behind Derby candidate Delacroix was promising and there was a lot to like about her style of victory over 1m2f on soft at Navan. Elwateen was fourth in the Guineas and Revoir, like her, has had just two races.

Thirsk

3.00: Emerald Army

Several possibles but the two standout candidates look to be Canon's House, who made a mockery of his mark at Carlisle last week and is 7lb ahead of the handicapper, and EMERALD ARMY. The former could be far too strong for his rivals again but Emerald Army, a course-and-distance winner in April, leaves the impression he hasn't finished improving himself. Sugar Baby may prove best of the rest.

Bangor

4.40: Heather Honey

A few of these have possibilities but improving six-year-old HEATHER HONEY recovered well from a last-flight jumping error to beat an in-form rival over course and distance last month and is taken to complete a hat-trick. Newmill Getaway (second choice) was keeping on stoutly at the end of 2m3f when second on her stable debut and it's easy to spot the logic behind today's move back up in trip. Killybegs Jet Lady and Moonshine Girl are also likely to feature, while Hello Marie looks interesting on her handicap debut

Fairyhouse

5.20: Orchidaceae

Roosevelt is a fascinating contender dropping all the way back to seven furlongs on handicap debut after his 1m4f success last time but there has to be a chance some of these will be too quick for him. ORCHIDACEAE could be the one to take him on with. It's worth putting a line through her run at the Curragh last time when not much went right and she's better judged on a promising effort at Group 3 level on her seasonal return.

Clonmel

5.00: Tassarolo

Only beaten two lengths in a Cork maiden hurdle last time, TASSAROLO holds Yosemite Gold on that form and can confirm it with cheekpieces added too. Power Of Words has a shout if bouncing back to the form of his Fairyhouse debut. Synchronize looks a player if the ground doesn't deteriorate.

Bath

8.40: Soi Dao

Claxton Bay (second choice) did well to finish as close as he did after taking off in front over course and distance last time and could well turn things round with the consistent King Of Speed if more amenable tonight. Tonal has it to prove after another short-priced blowout last time and this looks good for SOI DAO, who likes it here and is back over her optimal trip.

Goodwood

6.34: Momaer

Although she failed favourite backers at Windsor recently, MOMAER endured a wide trip from her tricky draw and ran very well. She's fine on all ground. Cables Queen retains a bit of potential and can appreciate this drop back to 6f for only her second crack at a handicap. Kensington Agent and Mammy are others with chances.

Doncaster

7.50: Philanthropist

A few of these three-year-olds still have potential but top of the list is PHILANTHROPIST, who won on his seasonal/handicap debut in April and drops in grade after finishing fourth in a competitive Ascot Class 2 race last month. Eve's Boy looked unlucky not to finish closer to the target on his recent reappearance at York and is an intriguing alternative. Territorial Knight and Stardancer are others to consider.
