Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's eight meetings on Friday, July 4

Sandown
1.50: A Major Payne
Top of the list is A MAJOR PAYNE, who has been knocking on the door in his last two starts and is only 1lb higher than for his latest second at Nottingham. The main threat could come from last year's runner-up Warning Sign, who returned to form with a good second at Newbury three weeks ago. Atlantis Blue is on a dangerous mark and looks interesting with Simon Walker booked, while Rising Force has possibilities if this sets up for his closing style.
David Moon
Wexford
3.15: Stay Gold
The trip of this race should suit STAY GOLD very nicely after he has appeared all stamina in his last two runs, including when just denied in a handicap at Punchestown last time over a similar trip. Empire Success is an unofficial winner at this track after finishing in front but subsequently being disqualified for a banned substance, and he showed a return to form last time. Strong Link and William Butler are others who bring interesting form to the table.
Denis Harney
Doncaster
3.25: Elsass
This looks to be between the 3yos, though the 4yo Ribble Vibe is worth a market check on stable debut. His stablemate Hornsea Bay ran with credit in a stronger race at Epsom last month, but the choice is ELSASS who is improving and is 2lb well in following his narrow defeat on handicap debut over C&D a week ago. Arkinthestars lost little in defeat when chasing home a big improver at Ripon last time and looks the main danger.
David Bellingham
Newton Abbot
4.53: Backinaction
The most appealing option in this finale is BACKINACTION, who returned from a layoff with a good effort over C&D last month and, after only three chase starts, may still have some potential. Testflight, another recent C&D runner-up, is 4lb wrong today but may still fare best of the others. Anytrixwilldo is too inconsistent to rely upon but he ran well last time and will be dangerous if on another going day.
Chris Wilson
Bellewstown
5.15: World Tour
Another likely winner here for Aidan O'Brien's powerful juvenile squad, with Down Royal third WORLD TOUR tipped to uphold form with fourth-placed Empty Wallet. Allsortz took a step forward on his second run, Camden Fort and Invicible Will may now do something similar.
Alan Sweetman
Haydock
5.30: Guernsey Lady
A small field but no shortage of interest, with Cotai Belle and Proof (second choice) capable of better, Kesta likely to appreciate not having to shoulder a penalty in novice company and U Turn having shown improved form when second at York three weeks ago. GUERNSEY LADY was flying too high at Royal Ascot last month but her earlier Lingfield win saw her display a fine attitude and she may be able to concede weight all round.
Paul Smith
Bangor
7.40: Lipa K
Donnie Azoff returned from a break with two good runs in the spring and is respected but preference is for LIPA K, who is also in good form and who is well suited by this C&D.
Chris Wilson
Beverley
8.00: Tara Iti
Three of the quintet made the running last time, including Sea Master, who stays further and wouldn't want a tactical affair. Triple Force, who's clicked since ridden aggressively in the visor, may be the one to take them along and he's respected, but TARA ITI, who's proved better than ever over hurdles of late, can take advantage of his lenient Flat mark and further enhance James Owen's Beverley numbers.
