Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's eight meetings on Friday, July 25

Ascot
4.10: War Howl
The vote goes to War Howl who strode out well at Doncaster and likely has more to offer for his current connections. Thurso (second choice) and Stratocracy are solid dangers on recent form, while Dannick earns points for consistency and Mister Mojito is still of interest.
Steve Boow
Chepstow
5.50: Dubai Time
A modest affair, unlike the nursery Dubai Time contested a fortnight ago, and she gets a firm seal of approval to land a first success. Lexington Express would have a solid chance on her penultimate run, while Corniche Girl will find this considerably easier than the Super Sprint and Lady Lauren stepped up markedly last time. Richard Russell
Cork
8.30: Vervain
The likely key to this race is a Naas event in which Vervain took third. Joe Murphy's filly has good prospects of upholding form with fifth-placed Whats New who should be underestimated following a more recent Killarney second. Amavasya looks best of the remainder.
Alan Sweetman
Kilbeggan
8.15: Zolpharine
A race that won't take much winning. Zolpharine has won here over timber and he can gain his first chase win after a promising run at Killarney last time. Gina Moon will be doing her best work at the finish and can challenge for a place and last year's winner Aliunde and Peckham Springs complete the shortlist.
Dave Stephens
Sandown
5.45: King's Castle
Ocean Heights (second choice) can be forgiven his last run and could well bounce back, while Foreseen and Mrembo command respect, but King's Castle went on a winning spree over hurdles last summer and is threatening to do the same back on the Flat.
Richard Russell
Thirsk
5.10: Irish Dancer
This can go to Irish Dancer, twice a winner over 5f this season who ran another good race at Catterick recently. In-form pair Ninety Nine and Beaumadier can fight it out for minor honours.
Peter Entwistle
Uttoxeter
3.47: Gwash
This can go to class-dropper Gwash, who would have preferred a much stronger pace to aim at when ridden very patiently in a quite valuable C&D contest last month and has become well handicapped. Captain's Pick also shaped as though returning to form when last in action and can be dangerous if the new cheekpieces have a positive effect. Manowest, Supreme Yeats, Land Girl's Luck and Red Panda also have possibilities.
Chris Wilson
York
8.23: Lady Roxby
Having won at Beverley in the style of a filly who could have plenty more to offer, Lady Roxby is taken to defy a 9lb rise. The highly progressive Luna A Inbhir Nis has won four of her last five starts and is second choice ahead of Tiva then Bonnie's Boy, who both suffered interference last time. Impressive Lingfield winner Diomed Duke is another to consider.
