Harry Wilson has tipped a 3-1 winner and has selections for the final races on day one at Doncaster

Our tipster marks your card for day one of the St Leger meeting on Thursday

Harry Wilson returns with his advice for all eight races on day one of the St Leger meeting at Doncaster on Thursday . . .

1.15 Doncaster
British Stallion Studs 'Carrie Red' EBF Fillies' Nursery Handicap, 6½f

Harry's tip: Rogue Temptation

Rogue Temptation has performed well since being upped to 6f, winning a Haydock novice in good fashion before dead-heating for second in a strong race at Ripon last month (winner and runner-up were fourth and seventh in a Group 2 next time). An opening mark of 82 doesn't look beyond her on that evidence, especially with the extra half-furlong promising to suit.

1.50 Doncaster
Weatherbys Scientific £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes, 6½f

Harry's tip: Jel Pepper

Jel Pepper boasts strong form, having finished a good third behind subsequent Vintage Stakes winner Zavateri in the Group 2 July Stakes. He can have his latest effort marked up, given he fared much the best of the low-drawn runners in a similar event at Naas. He won on soft ground on his debut, so won't mind any rain, and has a standout chance at the weights.

2.25 Doncaster
Betfred May Hill Stakes (Group 2), 1m

Harry's tip: Rose Ghaiyyath

Rose Ghaiyyath didn't have a lot to spare when landing a conditions event at Deauville on her debut, but she displayed signs of greenness and should improve for the experience. She has a bit to find on ratings, but the third that day has since been runner-up in a Listed race, so the form looks solid. The step up to a mile should suit based on her pedigree.

3.00 Doncaster
Betfred Park Hill Fillies' Stakes (Group 2), 1m6½f

Harry's tip: Crepe Suzette

Crepe Suzette took her form to a new level when finishing second in the Listed Galtres Stakes last time, staying on strongly to the line to be beaten just a head, having looked a touch outpaced. The Gosden yard has used that contest as a path to success in this race before and this longer trip looks worth a go.

3.35 Doncaster
Oddschecker Handicap, 1m2f

Harry's tip: Hopewell Rock

Hopewell Rock shaped better than the result suggests when returning from 319 days off on his handicap debut at Newbury last month, making headway to get himself into contention before his lack of a recent run told. He's entitled to strip fitter this time and should be better suited to this easier surface.

4.10 Doncaster
JHA Architecture Nursery Handicap, 7f

Harry's tip: Wechaad

Wechaad has posted progressive Racing Post Ratings in his three starts, most recently improving for the step up to 7f when chasing home a potentially useful one at Newbury last month, while his previous Ascot third looks solid form. An opening mark of 82 looks workable with more improvement to come now handicapping.

4.43 Doncaster
Yates Drywall Ltd Nursery Handicap, 1m

Harry's tip: Laureate Crown

Laureate Crown has been well held in Group races on his last two runs, but he created a fine impression when weaving his way through the field to land an Ascot novice on his debut in July. He's a half-brother to a Listed-winning miler, so this extra distance could suit, and this well-regarded colt is expected to bounce back now dropped in class.

5.15 Doncaster
Winners Wear Skopes Menswear Handicap, 1m4f

Harry's tip: Explode

Explode looked unlucky to bump into a few smart horses when placed on his first three starts on the all-weather – the winners are now rated 102, 95 and 95 – and he readily got off the mark with a tongue-tie added on his turf debut at Salisbury last month. He could prove underestimated by an opening mark of 85, especially with more improvement looking likely over this longer trip.
