Match preview

The battle for fourth place is shaping up to be a fascinating affair and there may be room for a surprise challenge from Wolves, who look worthy favourites to defeat Southampton at Molineux.

Wolves took the brave decision to change managers and playing styles in the summer and it seems to be paying off with Bruno Lage leading them to eighth place.

Lage's side won 1-0 at Manchester United this month and could draw level with the Red Devils, who are in action at Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

Wolves's confidence levels were topped up with a solid 3-0 success at home to Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round and there is no reason why they cannot stay on the winning trail.

Southampton climbed to a seasonal high of 11th after an impressive 4-1 success at home to Brentford on Tuesday, but they have not kept a clean sheet in ten games and a failure to shut out Wolves could be decisive.
