Young Russian Rublev can succeed in Moscow
Tournament preview
No Russian man has triumphed in the Kremlin Cup since Mikhail Youzhny in 2009 but precocious teenager Andrey Rublev can thrill the Moscow crowd by winning in the city of his birth.
Rublev showed his frustration during last week's second-round loss to Juan Martin Del Potro at the Shanghai Masters but has talent, as he demonstrated with a run to the US Open quarter-finals and in reaching the last eight at the China Open, where he defeated Jack Sock and Tomas Berdych.
The 19-year-old is among the most talented teenagers on the circuit and looks a better bet than top seed and tournament favourite Pablo Carreno Busta, who flopped at last week's Shanghai Masters, losing to Albert-Ramos Vinolas in the second round.
Ramos-Vinolas, who reached the quarter-finals in Shanghai, is seeded second and is a tough competitor but may struggle get past Rublev, who he is drawn to meet in the last eight.
