Wimbledon betting news: superb Serena Williams saunters past Barbora Strycova

Serena Williams is 8-15 to win an eighth Wimbledon title and draw level with Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slams when she takes on Simona Halep in Saturday's women's final after the 37-year-old American hammered Barbora Strycova in the semi-finals.

Serena was in phenomenal form as she swept past Strycova. The Czech was making her Grand Slam semi-final debut at the age of 33 and carrying a slight injury but Serena was far too strong for her opponent as she ran out a 6-1 6-2 winner on Centre Court, justifying odds of 2-7.

Williams, who was an 8-1 ante-post title shot, plays in a second consecutive final at the All England Club after she lost to Angelique Kerber last year but faces another similar test against a speedy counter-puncher in the shape of 2018 French Open champion Halep.

The 27-year-old Romanian was in similarly dominant form earlier on Thursday afternoon as she breezed past Elina Svitolina 6-1 6-3 to make her first Wimbledon final.

Halep was available at 16-1 before the tournament started and is 6-4 to defeat an opponent who has beaten her in nine of their ten meetings, including in the last 16 of the 2019 Australian Open.

Williams partnered Andy Murray in mixed doubles at Wimbledon this year and Betway go 5-4 that the dynamic duo team up again at next month's US Open. They are 7-1 to play at Wimbledon again.

The same firm believe it's inevitable that Murray will play singles again this year, making him 1-10 to play a competitive match in 2019 while it's 5-1 that he decides against a singles return this year.
