Novak Djokovic favourite after Anderson ousts Federer

Roger Federer was sensationally knocked out of Wimbledon on Wednesday when Kevin Anderson fought back from two sets down to triumph in five sets over his quarter-final opponent.

South African Anderson, the eighth seed in this year's tournament, has backed up his run to the final of last year's US Open superbly well and his reward for knocking out eight-time All England Club champion Federer is a last-four clash against the winner of Wednesday's late Court One match between big-serving pair Milos Raonic and John Isner.

Anderson drifted to 500-1 to be crowned grass-court king when he trailed Federer, who turns 37 next month, by two sets to nil.

Following Federer's defeat, Queen's Club finalist Novak Djokovic was the new 7-5 favourite for Wimbledon after easing into the last four with a 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-2 victory over Kei Nishikori.

The Serb, a three-time Wimbledon champion, will play the winner of Wednesday night's big Centre Court clash between French Open champion Rafael Nadal, who is seeded second this year, and Juan Martin del Potro.
