Sunday European preview

Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli has overseen only two wins in his first eight games in charge and the pressure could intensify on the Argentinian head coach should his side lose Sunday's El Gran Derbi clash to Real Betis.

Sevilla went into the weekend in the drop zone, having looked tame in their most recent league defeat at home to Rayo Vallecano.

Playmaker Isco picked up a yellow card in that match meaning he is now suspended to face Betis, while striker Youssef En-Nesyri is an injury doubt.

Betis, meanwhile, strolled to a 3-0 win over HJK Helsinki on Thursday night but nothing was riding on the match so they could rest key personnel in readiness for Sunday's derby at the Benito Villamarin, where they can get the better of their struggling rivals.

Only a point separates Roma and Lazio in Serie A standings but the ferocious nature of the Rome derby should play into the hands of Jose Mourinho's side, who can take the spoils at the Stadio Olimpico.

Carlo Ancelotti described the relationship between Roma and their manager Mourinho as a "perfect marriage" this week and the Wolves' recent form reflects that with five wins picked up from their last seven games.

Lazio will be without two of their biggest hitters - Ciro Immobile is sidelined and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic suspended - for Sunday's derby and a Roma win looks the way to go.

Freiburg are keeping pace with Union Berlin and Bayern Munich at the Bundesliga summit and should be too good for Cologne at the Europa-Park Stadion.

The Black Forest club have posted seven wins from 12 games in the league and can get the better of the Billy Goats, who lost their last away league fixture at Mainz 5-0.
