Betting preview

The Strictly Come Dancing final is not strictly about dancing ability - and a sentimental vote could see show veteran Anton Du Beke lift the Glitterball trophy with celebrity partner Emma Barton.

The popular performer has appeared in all 17 series of the show, but finished eighth or worse in 11 of those attempts and has made the final only once before, finishing fourth of four in 2015 with Katie Derham. He finished third in the very first series, but only two couples made the final that year.

Only public support matters in the final and weaker performers have won the show - Chris Hollins won in 2007 despite getting the lowest marks from the judges.

Anton and Emma registered the worst score in week seven, but phone voters helped them avoid the dance-off, while CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and pro partner Amy Dowden have been in the dance-off twice despite scoring a perfect 40 and two 39s in this series.

Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse are red-hot favourites with Karim and Amy big-priced outsiders despite Karim's evident talent. Anton and Emma look the value alternative to get the backing of the public. Their price has shortened through the week, but that in itself is a sign that they could be the public's pick.
