Preston qualifiers day one
From 9.30am Tuesday

After a while without qualifying action, it's back to the grindstone for those players who have entered the International Championship and Tian Pengfei should be able to outclass veteran James Wattana in their first-round opener at the Preston Guild Hall.

Tian is still not doing justice to his talents, but he at least looks more solid on the baize and that's likely to count against former world number three Wattana, a player who has seen better days.

A trip to Daqing is up for grabs at the end of next month and Tian, who won his only previous clash with Wattana 4-2 in 2012, will not want to miss another chance to perform in front of his homeland fans.

Back Tian, who was edged out 5-4 by David Gilbert in Yushan last week, to successfully concede a start of 1.5 frames to Wattana.

Recommendation
Tian Pengfei -1.5 frames
