Home favourite Wenbo could shine in Ding's absence
Defending champion suffering from an ongoing eye problem

Eurosport 1, from 6.30am Monday
Defending champion Ding Junhui has withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters.
The world number two, who was originally one of Racing Post Sport's pre-tournament picks, has withdrawn due to an ongoing eye problem.
However, Ding's absence may be a boost for the chances of another home favourite in Shanghai - Liang Wenbo.
Wenbo compiled an impressive maximum last month while attempting to defend his English Open crown and is beginning to develop the necessary mental strength to continuously run deep into tournaments.
He represents the best value in a winnable quarter also featuring John Higgins, who was last seen on Thursday being whitewashed 6-0 by Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Recommendation
L Wenbo
