The green-baize action returns with almost a month having passed since Ali Carter landed the World Open in Yushan.
Essex cueman Carter also won the Paul Hunter Classic last year and will go into this season’s Furth gathering, which now carries full ranking-event status, with high hopes.
Given his extremely favourable draw, Carter looks the bet to retain the crown he so poignantly landed last season.
