Match preview

Leicester announced their intentions of becoming a force once again with a bonus-point win over Exeter last week, and they can follow up on the road at Gloucester.

The Tigers ran in five tries in a 34-19 success and their set-piece looked strong, even against a depleted Exeter outfit.

Hosts Gloucester know what to expect and have bulked up their pack by bringing in ex-Tiger Ed Slater in the second row plus Ruan Ackermann at number eight.

But Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick has clearly spent time getting his own forward unit well-drilled and they can set the platform for a strong attacking performance.

Jack van Poortvliet, who came off the bench against the Chiefs, starts at scrum-half in place of Ben Youngs for Leicester but changes have been kept to a minimum.

Leicester won both meetings with the Cherry & Whites last season, 38-15 at home and 20-14 at Kingsholm, and they look a stronger side this term.
