Playmakers should return to boost Cas against Wigan

Tigers have found only leaders St Helens too good recently

Betfred Super League
Friday 8pm

Wigan snapped a three-game losing run when beating Hull last weekend but the Warriors' revival may be short-lived when they travel to Castleford in the Betfred Super League on Friday night.

Shaun Wane has been forced into at least three changes for his side's trip across the Pennines, with Sean O'Loughlin, John Bateman and George Williams away on international duty. And the absence of those three players could be a defining factor.

Castleford haven't played with the swashbuckling style that saw them saunter to the League Leaders' Shield and make the Grand Final last term, but they are still handily placed for another run at making it to Old Trafford.

The Tigers lie fourth in the table and have found only leaders St Helens too good in their last five games despite struggling with injuries - their 34-30 win at Warrington a fortnight ago with a depleted side was a particular highlight.

Playmakers Jamie Ellis and Paul McShane are set to return from injury for Friday's clash and as their stars return to the paddock, the Tigers could be set to roar again.

Recommendation
Castleford
2pts 4-5 general
