Velez value to blow away Huracan

Some matches are easier to price than others with Velez versus Huracan seemingly falling into the straightforward category.

Both sides have played 16 Argentinian Primera matches and both are in the bottom third of the 30-team table with 17 points. If they are of a similar ability the prices would be a virtual pick 'em at a neutral venue and if one is at home they are usually available at a shade of odds-against.

That is the case for this contest but looking beyond the actual standings it could be argued there is more scope for hosts Velez to improve.

Velez made a shocking start with seven defeats in their opening nine matches but they are on the road to recovery with four wins in their last five home fixtures.

Dog-loving Juan Martinez's arrival should help Velez. The man commonly known as the Burrito - little donkey - walked away from a big-money MLS contract with Real Salt Lake to return to Argentina to care for his cancer-stricken canine.

Velez also have much better shot statistics than Huracan. El Fortin's shots-on-target ratio is bang on the league average of 0.50 whereas Huracan's share of the match shots is a worrying 0.40.

Huracan have conceded just 15 goals in 16 games but they allow on average 4.8 shots on target per game and only rock-bottom Arsenal are worse in that department with an average of six.
