Preview

Derry City look too big to beat Dundalk on Friday as Ruaidhri Higgins returns to Oriel Park.

Higgins enjoyed a fine spell on Dundalk's coaching team before joining the Ireland national set-up. Since taking the reins at Derry at the end of the April, City have not suffered defeat on the road, recording victories at Bohemians, Sligo, Finn Harps and Waterford.

Dundalk remain deeply unconvincing. They are below Derry in the table and while the loss of Will Patching will certainly hurt the visitors, City should have the quality to get something out of the game.

It might also be worth taking a chance on Longford to beat Finn Harps. Last week's defeat to Waterford was a blow for bottom-placed Town but this is another winnable game as Harps' form has been patchy of late. The hosts have lost five times at Finn Park already this season.

The big game of the weekend is arguably Sligo v Bohemians on Saturday.

Victory over Shamrock Rovers has kept Bohs' slim title hopes alive and they are fancied to triumph, although the prices available earlier this week have now gone.

In Division 1, Cabinteely are perhaps slightly inferior to UCD but they are attractively priced in the draw-no-bet market at home.
