Manuel Pellegrini under more pressure than Unai Emery and Ralph Hasenhuttl

The international break can be a dangerous time for under-pressure Premier League managers. We take a look at the job prospects for the top five in the sack race betting:

Ralph Hasenhuttl

Hasenhuttl received plenty of praise for steering Southampton to safety last season but his stock has plummeted since last month's shocking 9-0 loss at home to Leicester.

A lack of confidence was evident during the Saints' 2-1 defeat at home to Everton on Saturday and Hasenhuttl is running out of time to find a solution.

Unai Emery

Arsenal like to give their managers time but pressure is mounting on Emery, who appears no nearer to restoring the club to their former glories.

Qualifying for the Champions League is seen as the first step on the road to recovery but the Gunners are eight points adrift of fourth place.

Manuel Pellegrini

There was a lot of love for Manuel Pellegrini after the Chilean steered West Ham to a top-half finish last season but an alarming slump has raised questions over his future.

The Hammers have slipped from fifth to 16th over the last six games and suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at Oxford United in the EFL Cup.

Marco Silva

Silva was a relieved man after Everton's 2-1 victory at Southampton on Saturday but he is far from out of the conversation when it comes to anticipating the next top-flight managerial departure.

Five of Everton's next six league games are against teams in the top seven and a poor run could plunge Silva back into difficulties.

Daniel Farke

Norwich are a well-run club who are reluctant to make knee-jerk decisions but there may come a time when they reassess their backing for head coach Farke.

Relegation would not be a financial disaster for the Canaries but it is only natural for questions to be asked of their promotion-winning manager, who has presided over nine defeats in 12 league games.

Verdict

International breaks are a dangerous time for struggling managers as many clubs view the two-week window as an ideal opportunity to change direction.

The November break comes at a bad time for Hasenhuttl, whose Southampton team are on a four-match losing sequence, but the Austrian will be particularly keen to cling to his job because the next two home games, against Watford and Norwich, offer an excellent chance of salvation.

Hasenhuttl tops the next-manager-to-go betting, just ahead of Arsenal boss Emery, who needs a swift turnaround after four league games without a win.

But both could stay in their positions beyond the time afforded to West Ham's beleaguered gaffer Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers have invested heavily in recent seasons and expected a push for European places. However, they are in danger of getting sucked into the relegation battle and patience in Pellegrini may run out if they suffer derby defeats at home to Tottenham and away to Chelsea in their upcoming fixtures.
