Bournemouth have been making heavy weather of their quest for an immediate return to the Premier League but they can reignite their season with a victory over third-placed Swansea.

Automatic promotion was always the target for a Bournemouth squad featuring several players with a wealth of top-flight experience but they failed to build on a strong start and are five points adrift of the top six after Saturday's damaging 3-2 loss at home to Barnsley.

However, the Cherries have shown their best side in the biggest matches, taking eight points from a possible 12 against the top three, and they look worthy favourites against the Swans, who are showing signs of fatigue.

Swansea were on the back foot for large parts of last Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Blackburn and rode their luck to triumph 1-0 at Luton on Saturday.

Steve Cooper's side have been picking up points without playing particularly well but their top two ambitions may suffer a setback on the south coast.
