When is the Africa Cup of Nations?

The 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations is taking place between Friday June 21 and Friday July 19. Cameroon are the defending champions.

Where is the Africa Cup of Nations?

The tournament is being hosted by 2017 runners-up Egypt as they look to add to their seven titles. Six stadiums will be used across four cities.

Where can you watch the Africa Cup of Nations?

Eurosport will show the tournament live and it is also possible to stream coverage on the Eurosport Player.

Tournament format

The 24 teams have been drawn from seeded pots, based on their Fifa ranking, into six groups of four.

Group A: Egypt, DR Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe

Group B: Nigeria, Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi

Group C: Senegal, Algeria, Kenya and Tanzania

Group D: Morocco, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Namibia

Group E: Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Angola

Group F: Cameroon, Ghana, Benin and Guinea-Bissau

The four sides in each group will play each other in a round-robin format. The top two teams in each group will be joined in the last 16 by the top four third-placed teams.

The eight winners of the last 16 will proceed to the quarter-finals. The four winning teams will contest the semi-finals. Winning semi-finalists will reach the final and the losers will face off for third place.
