Aaron Ramsey is a poor man’s Frank Lampard

What is your best bet for the weekend?

Burnley to take care of Fulham at Turf Moor. Burnley have hoisted themselves out of the bottom three with crunch wins over West Ham and Huddersfield and can now start looking upward. They remain a strong, aggressive side, exactly the sort of team who can bully Fulham’s flaky defence into submission. Fulham look a side in all sorts of trouble.

Which favourites look the most vulnerable?

Cardiff are too short against Huddersfield. Huddersfield are on a wretched run but I’ve not given up on them completely. It’s the match odds that I find fault with. They give the impression Cardiff are far better than they are and I’d dispute that. This will be a tight game, possibly decided by the odd goal, and that makes Cardiff far too short.

How do you see the Premier League title race now?

With a four-point cushion I’d still rather be with Liverpool. Yes, they’ve had their slip-up at the Etihad but are we sure they will have many more? Or that City won’t have another defeat in them somewhere? That four-point cushion looks massive given how excellent Liverpool have been this season. They’ll be back to winning ways today and are worthy title favourites.

Is Pochettino better off staying at Tottenham or going to Man United?

Is there a bigger job in the world than Manchester United? Maybe Barcelona though Pochettino, with his Espanyol history has said he’s not interested. Real Madrid perhaps. Forget what’s happened to United over the last couple of years, they are a colossal club and he’s one of the best managers in the world and would improve United no end.

Would Aaron Ramsey be a success with Juventus?

No. Would he improve Juventus? Almost certainly not. There’s all this talk of clubs being linked with Ramsey, including Bayern Munich, though I doubt that. I think he’s a poor man’s Frank Lampard. He nicks the odd goal, has the odd good spell but let’s not get over-excited about him. I trust Unai Emery and he doesn’t seem to rate him highly.

Give us a winner from the FA Cup replays

I’ll stick with Derby against Southampton. I fancied them at home and they came on strong in the 2-2 draw at Pride Park and they look a decent price. Frank Lampard makes all the right noises about the FA Cup – it’s a competition which showered him with riches as a player – and I’m sure he’ll take it seriously. Saints aren’t in good form and have to focus on Premier League survival.
