Pakistan cruised to a six-wicket victory over West Indies in Sunday’s T20 clash in Barbados and can take a two-nil lead in the four-match series by winning the first of three matches in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Five uncapped players were included in Pakistan’s touring party and the policy of promoting youth was rewarded when 18-year-old debutant leg-spinner Shadad Khan played the starring role in Bridgetown, finishing with figures of three for seven.

West Indies never got to grips with the Pakistan spinners in slow conditions which suited the tourists. There is unlikely to be much more pace in the wicket at Port of Spain and the outcome could be similar.

West Indies have some big-hitting batsman like Carlos Brathwaite and Kieron Pollard but captain Jason Holder admitted a rethink of strategy is needed after the poor display in the first match.

West Indies bowled and fielded well enough in the first game but have failed to pass 150 in their last five T20 innings and their vulnerable batting could let them down once again.
