Outsiders Durham primed for strong start at Outlaws

Top of order of T20 champs Notts looks less prolific

Nottinghamshire's bid to retain their T20 Blast title has clicked into gear but they look short enough in the betting to beat a Durham side who are exceeding expectations in the Twenty20 competition.

Notts completed a hat-trick of wins with a Duckworth-Lewis drubbing of Derbyshire on Friday and they are just 8-15 to make it four on the bounce at home to Durham.

However, the Jets should arrive at Trent Bridge in bullish mood after racking up 220-6 in Sunday’s surprise victory over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.

They beat a dangerous Leicestershire side in their previous away game and should have seen off Yorkshire in between those two wins, slipping from 99-1 to 147-6 in pursuit of just 158.

Durham are 7-4 outsiders to win the game but they may be worth backing to outscore their hosts in the first six overs.

Durham openers Tom Latham and Graham Clark put on 77 and 126 in their last two games while the Notts top order is less prolific – Dan Christian has top-scored from number six in two of their last three games.

Recommendation
Durham to have higher score in first six overs
