It could be back to the old school at the O2 Arena in London when Brixton's Dillian Whyte takes on Aussie Lucas Browne.

Neither heavyweight has the silky skills of Anthony Joshua but their power is undisputed, and while it may get scruffy at times this could turn into a slugfest.

That's what happened the last time Whyte took on another slugger - his battle with Dereck Chisora was one for the ages - but he came through that blitz and should he able to cope with Browne's bombs.

The Aussie has won all of his 25 fights and Whyte 22 of 23, but Whyte's defeat to Joshua is more famous than any of those victories.

Whyte was the first person to ask serious questions of AJ's chin and although he lost in the seventh round he emerged with great credit.

That was in December 2015. He has improved since then and kept active with six wins out of six against good opponents.

Browne's biggest victory came in March 2016 when, well behind on points in Grozny, Russia, he climbed off the canvas to stun the arena and stop local hero Ruslan Chagaev.

But the victory was overshadowed by a failed drugs test and he has fought just once since against a journeyman.

Browne is 38, cuts easily and on Friday he weighed in around a stone heavier than he did against Chagaev. Those extra pounds could really start to affect him after a few rounds because Whyte is younger, faster and has noticeably got fitter over the last few years.

The Londoner is there to be hit and Browne is dangerous, but Whyte could start to dominate after the first few rounds. The odds suggest Browne's conditioning will cope with a full 12, but his inactivity and weight are worrying.
