Fight preview

The best fighter on the planet, Vasyl Lomachenko, faces his sternest test to date as a professional in the early hours of Sunday morning in Las Vegas with the bout streamed for pay per view on FITE TV.

The slick Ukrainian takes on powerful young American Teofimo Lopez to be crowned undisputed lightweight champion.

Lomachenko's vast experience, sublime footwork and barrage of punches will trouble Lopez, who was very impressive in taking apart Richard Commey last time.

A highly-decorated amateur, arguably the most successful ever, 32-year-old Lomachenko fought 397 times winning all except for one fight - which he avenged twice.

Competing in the featherweight and lightweight divisions, he won numerous medals, most notably gold at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and consecutive golds at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.

It's a fight that is expected to go the distance, and the most appealing price on offer is Lomachenko winning by unanimous decision.

Even if Lopez can score a knockdown, Loma's technical brilliance can see him clear on the scorecards.

Newcastle's super lightweight Lewis Ritson is back in action and headlines a card from the East of England Arena in Peterborough on Saturday night, where he is expected to see off experienced Mexican Miguel Vazquez.

The exciting and talented Qais Ashfaq features on the undercard, in one of a few potential mismatches.
