Fight preview

YouTube sensation Jake Paul steps into the ring for his third professional bout in Atlanta this weekend and is strongly fancied to extend his unbeaten start.

The 24-year-old, who has over 20 million subscribers on YouTube, has beaten another YouTuber and a former NBA player so far and now faces an ex-MMA fighter, Ben Askren.

This is Askren's first boxing bout and it's unlikely his mixed martial arts background will enable him to upset the odds here.

Askren's stint in the UFC octagon was short and unsuccessful. He retired from MMA after two defeats and was famously on the receiving end of the fastest knockout in UFC history when he was defeated by Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239.

Known as more of a wrestler and preferring groundwork to striking, Askren is the outsider for his bout with Paul which looks entirely justified.

Paul is no world beater but has shown enough in his two fights, including a vicious knockout of Nate Robinson in November, to take advantage of his significant size, weight and reach advantage.

Askren is the older of the two fighters at 36 and has taken this eight-round fight as an opportunity to get back into shape after hip surgery.

Favourite Paul won't be winning any world titles in his boxing career, but possesses enough ring craft to take care of Askren inside the distance.
