St Leger festival: ITV Racing tips
Our Spotlight experts select their best bets for day four of the St Leger festival – plus Chester and Leopardstown
1.45 Doncaster
Portland Handicap, 5½f
The Sprint Cup success of Emaraaty Ana was a reminder of Kevin Ryan's ability of training sprinters and he is strongly represented with Digital in the big handicap. Last year's winner Stone Of Destiny, topweight Hurricane Ivor and recent scorer Mondammej are contenders.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: TREACHEROUS
Never travelled in cheekpieces latest; firmly in calculations judged on previous near-miss
Graeme Rodway's banker on day one of Irish Champions Weekend
tote+ Stand Cup Stakes (Listed), 1m4½f
Alignak has not been seen on a racecourse since winning this race 12 months ago. He beat a King Power horse, Morando, that day and the same connections give him plenty to think about this time around with Alounak. Three-year-old Invite and Throne Hall have chances.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ALOUNAK
Durable six-year-old, as good as ever this year; solid claims on the figures and high on the list
Champagne Stakes (Group 2), 7f
The Queen's Reach For The Moon is among the most exciting two-year-olds in training and faces just three runners as he steps closer to the top level. Lusail looks the chief threat, representing the Richard Hannon yard, who have won this race in the last two seasons.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: REACH FOR THE MOON
Second in the Chesham; impressive in the Solario at Sandown last time; strongly respected
The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday
Nuits St Georges looked impressive when recording back-to-back wins at Goodwood and Salisbury but has to bounce back from a below-par effort last time out.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MR CURIOSITY
Below par on handicap debut last time but he's low mileage and could still have a say
Irish Champion Stakes (Group 1), 1m2f
St Mark's Basilica can reaffirm his place as the outright best horse in the world with success in this prestigious race. He takes on last season's Breeders' Cup queen Tarnawa, for Dermot Weld, and the rock-solid Poetic Flare, who steps up to this distance for the first time. Patrick Sarsfield completes the quartet.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: TARNAWA
Breeders' Cup Turf winner, sure to be in fighting shape after last month's reappearance
Saturday's free racing tips: six horses to consider putting in your multiples
Cazoo Park Stakes (Group 2), 7f
Shadwell Estate hold the two best chances, including with Laneqash who was a surprise second in the Hungerford on his first start of the season. Danyah, meanwhile, is tested at Group level for the first time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: LANEQASH
Very lightly raced three-year-old; cracking second in Newbury Group 2 on last month's belated return
Cazoo St Leger Stakes (Group 1), 1m6½f
The final Classic of the season in Britain centres around Godolphin's talented Hurricane Lane, who has already captured two Group 1s this season. The Irish Derby winner faces Mojo Star – one place ahead of him in second in the Derby – and Johnny Murtagh's prolific Ottoman Emperor. High Definition looks the best of Aidan O'Brien's four runners.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HURRICANE LANE
Sole defeat in the Derby; won Irish Derby and French Group 1 since; bred to stay 1m6f
