ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the eight races on ITV4 on Saturday
1.30 Wincanton
Leonna Mayor New House Celebration Handicap Hurdle 1m7f
A low-key start to the coverage of ITV4 with this 0-105 handicap hurdle. Ryan Potter, who is represented in the Tolworth later in the afternoon, has a good chance with Pittsburg, while Planned Paradise, Mi Laddo and Midnight Callisto at least arrive in good form.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MIDNIGHT CALLISTO
Bumper winner on soft ground; 0-7 over hurdles but ran best race last time; shortlisted
1.50 Sandown
Unibet Horserace Betting Operator Of The Year Handicap Chase 1m7½f
The form of Gunsight Ridge’s second has been franked in the strongest terms by L’Homme Presse, winner of last weekend’s Dipper Novices’ Chase. There is unlikely to be a rival of such calibre here, although Moonlighter and Monsieur Lecoq both know what it takes to win at the Esher track.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: UP THE STRAIGHT
Excellent second here (2m4f; no extra run-in) last March; interesting back on this course
Paul Kealy's Saturday banker at Sandown
advancedBiotech.co.uk UK Award Winning CBD Handicap Chase 1m7½f
A wide-open handicap chase but a step down in class for Grey Diamond could give Welsh Grand National-winning trainer Sam Thomas another success on ITV. Belle De Manech impressed at this course last month but this is harder back down in trip.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GREY DIAMOND
Ran well on first two starts this season and drops in grade today; leading contender
2.25 Sandown
Unibet Tolworth Novices' Hurdle, Grade 1, 2m
The star attraction of the day is Constitution Hill and he could become the new favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle with another impressive performance at Sandown. A sterner examination awaits here with Mr Glass, Shallwehaveonemore and Datsalrightgino leading the opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CONSTITUTION HILL
Hugely impressive in C&D novice hurdle on rules debut; high-class prospect; very exciting
rapidcharge.com Leading EV Charging Solution Handicap Hurdle 2m5½f
Crossing The Bar and Blairgowrie are prominent in the market and it is little surprise given both have unexposed profiles and are making their handicap debuts. Apple Rock is much more experienced but back on a winning mark.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CROSSING THE BAR
Has made frame on both runs over hurdles; could be well treated for today's handicap debut
3.00 Sandown
Unibet Veterans' Handicap Chase 3m
An incredibly popular highlight for racing fans and professionals since the first series final was held in 2016. Venetia Williams won this with Houblon Des Obeaux and has strong claims again with the class act of the field Aso, although Final Nudge, Wandrin Star, Gwencily Berbas and Indy Five all arrive on the back of a win.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: WANDRIN STAR
C&D winner on reappearance two months ago; goes particularly well fresh; big player
The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' two horse racing tips on Saturday
Art Of Outdoor With Ocean Handicap Chase 2m4f
The last race at Wincanton on ITV4 is also the strongest. Stolen Silver heads the weights for Sam Thomas after finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices’ Chase last month. Mont Des Avaloirs has a lengthy absence to defy but is talented, while Killer Clown is yet to build fully on the promise of his Kempton win last season.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: STOLEN SILVER
Found top novice company too hot to handle latest; live claims up in trip
Unibet Casino Deposit £10 Get £40 Handicap Hurdle 2m
Some smart horses have claimed this prize in recent seasons and Hermes Boy has plenty of potential for Jane Williams. Mack The Man has a good record at this course and was third in last season’s Imperial Cup off 2lb lower. Natural History remains on a favourable mark on his Flat form if putting it all together.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: VOLKOVKA
Much improved this term under good 7lb claimer; probably needs more but highly respected
