The Dublin Racing Festival dominates the weekend action, but there are also important meetings in Britain at Sandown, Musselburgh and Wetherby.

Sandown’s Grade 1 Virgin Bet Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase (2.20) tops the bill, with the Venetia Williams-trained L’Homme Presse a hot favourite to continue his sizzling run of form over fences which has seen him land three consecutive wins at Exeter, Ascot and Cheltenham.

His jumping was simply superb at Cheltenham, and the manner in which he eased clear up the hill was equally impressive. He is quoted at 6-1 for Cheltenham’s Turners Novices’ Chase next month.
